How to Wash Your Cat Without Water
Most cats don't like bathing. They're fascinated with dripping faucets but hate to be submerged in water. Some experts theorize it's because cats don't like the smell of chemicals from tap water.
Fortunately, most cats are constantly self-cleaning so a bath is only needed occasionally. There are also solutions for cleaning your cat that don't involve water. We created a Cat Bath Wipe you can use to wipe down your cat's coat. This eliminates dirt, excess hair, reduces fur-balls, and helps your cat relax with natural catnip oil.
Do you need to bathe your cat?
Several customers have asked us: do I need to wash my cat? It's a great question considering cats love to clean themselves. Our simple answer is yes: you need to supplement your cat's cleaning efforts, but only occasionally. The exception to this is if your cat is older or obese, you should be helping your cat stay clean more often.
Older or obese cats have a harder time reaching those tough-to-reach areas. Catnip Bath Wipes are helpful for cats that need some extra loving, especially older or obese cats. But certainly most all cats love the catnip and the routine of being cleaned with it!
How to bathe your water without water
Here are the steps for keeping your cat clean without water:
1. Purchase a safe wipe to use on your cat, preferably with a scent your cat will like. Our cat wipe is infused with natural catnip oil, so your cat will enjoy it.
2. Wipe your cat from head to tail.
3. Repeat as needed, using new wipes if the wipe has collected dirt or fur on it.
4. That's it!
It's an easy and calming process for your cat. Cats who are obese, ill, or elderly tend to love this bathing method because it allows them to simply relax. Plus, it's a great bonding activity between you and your cat.
